Vertical warehouses have multiple applications in the world of healthcare and hospitals: from drug storage and pharmacy set-up in hospital facilities to storing beds, prostheses and surgical equipment.
A hospital in Xi’an, China has selected a completely innovative solution to manage all the materials needed in the operating theatre on the fourth floor of the building.
A 14-metre Modula was built between the various floors, to store on the second floor the sterile materials needed in the operating theatre, which are then transferred to the fourth floor directly when needed.
Modula and Xi’An: Ergonomic Efficiency with Dual External Bay
The external dual bay makes it possible to drop off and pick the materials very ergonomically and quickly, whereas the laser pointer – on the second floor only, in a dedicated bay – indicates to operators exactly which items to pick, with no margin for error.
To store items like these, which are extremely delicate and require careful handling in terms of cleaning and protection, Modula proved the ideal solution, guaranteeing both cleanliness and traceability as well as inventory under control and perfect stock management.
The 60 trays in the Modula MA25 provides constant information on items found and ensure precise, timely picking to better serve the operating theatre with sterile equipment and materials.
