The customers of Mec-Diesel, a company that’s been distributing spare vehicle and engine parts in 80 countries worldwide since 1983, have always wanted to be able to order their parts online, with quick, orderly, and error-free delivery.
In order to meet the growing demand for a broader assortment and improve its customer service, Mec-Diesel launched a dedicated project, complete with the installation of Modula automated warehouses. These systems have made it possible to store existing and incoming goods in a significantly reduced space, without interrupting the workflow, and with very fast implementation times (less than a week for each Modula unit).
The company offers its customers an e-commerce portal through which they can order spare parts. Once the order is confirmed, the goods are shipped directly to the warehouse, which communicates with the Modula WMS management software in real time to process the order.
Mec-Diesel Bolsters its Logistics with Modula Automatic Warehouses: Quick and Efficient Auto Parts Management
Mec-Diesel has chosen to use 35 Modula Lift ML75D units, all equipped with dual internal bays and arranged in two opposing rows, thus also exploiting the space under the beam. During the picking phase, the operator is guided in selecting the parts thanks to an alphanumeric LED bar, which indicates the code, quantity, and locations of the items, thus allowing the orders to be completed with a time savings of 60%.
Another advantage offered by Modula technologies is centralised management via the Modula Cloud. In fact, Mec-Diesel is able to remotely monitor all of its branches and automated warehouses, checking volumes, efficiency and saturation levels, speed, and rotation, all at the click of a button.
