With a wide range of spare parts to handle, from small items such as postage stamps to machinery weighing up to 25 tons, it was looking to improve efficiency, safety and space utilisation. After careful evaluation of various technologies, Komatsu implemented seven Modula Lifts, combining them with conveyor belts. This solution has resulted in various benefits. Firstly, it has significantly reduced the strain for employees involved in manual handling, making it much easier to load the Modula trays. Secondly, the picking speed has almost tripled, streamlining the process and making it much faster. Finally, the Modula storage solution has ensured efficient use of vertical space, freeing up surface area for other activities in the warehouse.
