Sitab is a leading company in the construction and building industry, specialising in the manufacture of partition modules for offices and homes. Headquartered in Spain, Sitab is an international leader with a global turnover of more than 40 million euros.
Although technology in this sector is traditionally less advanced, Sitab has recognised the importance of investing in research and development, focusing on customised products to meet the needs of customers worldwide.
The challenge: optimising production and logistics
The growing demand for customisation and global expansion required better coordination between production and shipping. In 2019, Sitab chose Modula to revolutionise warehouse management and introduce order and linearity in its logistics processes.
Solutions implemented using Modula
Thanks to the installation of four Modula machines, Sitab has:
- Doubled storage capacity without the need to expand physical space.
- Improved warehouse organisation by standardising workflows.
- Increased efficiency in the handling of articles, thanks to management involving precise procedures.
The Modula models installed include trays with a load capacity of up to 900 kg, equipped with dividers and partitions for optimal organisation. All this in just 12 m2, an extremely compact area that allows orders to be managed precisely, customised and dispatched quickly.
In addition to Modula, Sitab is investing in a 320-square-metre, 24-metre high automatic outdoor warehouse, designed by Mecalux. The integration of the different systems, Modula and Mecalux, makes it possible to optimise the entire logistics flow, ensuring greater throughput, precision and more efficient use of resources.
Innovation with Modula DD
The latest addition to the company, the Modula DD, is distinguished by its depth of 1257 mm, ideal for storing heavy, voluminous and bulky items. With the use of lifters and weight balancers, the handling of these components has become simple and safe, improving productivity and reducing risks for personnel.
The results
- Space optimisation: maximisation of storage capacity in small areas.
- Operational efficiency: reduced time in order processing and material handling.
- Flexibility: handling of customised items with greater precision and throughput.
- Improved safety: reduced risks associated with handling heavy materials.
Conclusion
Sitab demonstrates how the adoption of innovative technologies such as Modula can dramatically transform the way traditional industries such as the construction sector operate. With a strategic vision that combines customisation, efficiency and technological integration, the company has positioned itself as a pioneer in the field of logistics innovation.
