OTC Industrial is a world leader in the field of welding and robotic components. It forms part of the Japanese Dahien Group, which has 32 companies around the world, actively working to strengthen its global business.
In 1989, OTC DAIHEN Asia Co., Ltd. was established to support the manufacturing industry, focusing on the welding and mechatronics sectors. The OTC DAIHEN Asia factory produces a wide range of torches and welding machines, which are exported all over the world, including to Japan, Thailand and elsewhere in Asia, as well as to America and Europe.
With Modula Automated Warehouses, Efficiency and Precision in Inventory Management
The decision to purchase Modula vertical technology stems from the desire to expand production to meet the increase in demand without repercussions on quality. Their production is based on the QCD standard [Q = Quality, C = lower Cost, D = Delivery on schedule], which in recent years has been added to attention to safety and the environment.
Alongside the new welding machines, five Modula machines have been added to manage an inventory of over 10,000 SKUs, providing operators with assistance in daily production and facilitating stock management.
All Lift warehouses with internal dual bays are 9.9 meters high and are equipped with laser pointers to improve picking accuracy. All five are managed by the Modula WMS, which interfaces with the management system to operate and pick according to a FIFO (First In, First Out) approach, always with the aim of improving manufacturing performance.
The low energy impact and design were also decisive factors in the choice to switch to Modula.
