Trelleborg manufactures and distributes industrial polymer products to seal, dampen and protect critical applications in specific environments.
The initial issue faced by the company was the difficulty in storing products from the various Trelleborg factories. The goods, often shipped in long cardboard boxes, took up half of the available storage space due to the traditional shelving system in use. This issue had a negative impact on inventory management, leading to delays in the sale of products and the risk of passing expiry dates.
Optimising warehouse space with the Modula Lift automated tray warehouse
The solution came with the commissioning of three Modula Lifts in the warehouse. These innovative systems have made it possible to optimise the available space, thus resolving the issue of inefficiency. Following the implementation of vertical warehouses, products are now traced more accurately, improving inventory management and reducing the risk of unsold products due to passing expiry dates.
This strategic move demonstrates Trelleborg’s commitment to innovation and optimisation of logistics processes, while ensuring the highest quality and safety of its products.
