Modula continues to innovate in the field of automated storage solutions, integrating cutting-edge technologies to meet the needs of a constantly evolving market.
Thanks to the collaboration with cutting-edge companies such as Amer, Flexcon and ROEQ, at Modula we have developed an advanced handling and storage system that not only improves operational efficiency, but also redefines the concept of automation in warehouses.
At Modula, we have successfully completed projects for cutting-edge companies such as AMER and Flexcon, which can now count on a Modula system integrated with MiR to optimise their logistics operations. Partly thanks to the contribution of ROEQ, we have developed an advanced handling and storage system that not only improves operational efficiency, but also redefines the concept of automation in warehouses.
In this newsletter, we will explore in detail the distinctive features of the new Modula-AMR-ROEQ bay, with a particular focus on how it works, its autonomous capabilities and how these innovations can transform logistics and warehouse operations.
The new bay is an integral part of an automated storage system, which includes the automated warehouse and autonomous robots, offering a complete and highly efficient solution for inventory warehouse management.
Benefits of automatic bay in inventory management
Modula, with the technology developed in partnership with MiR and ROEQ, has taken a significant step forward in the development and implementation of robotic integrations. At the new Fiorano showroom, a 4100 mm ML bay and a 4100 mm MA bay were installed, designed for the automatic storage of crates made of plastic or similar materials.
The new bay combines the functionality of the Modula Lift with the ability to operate and interact, in total autonomy, simultaneously with several robots, without no operator intervention required, made possible by this innovation.
Optimisation of picking and storage processes with Modula innovations
The robots that form part of the AMR storage system move autonomously within the building, serving different areas and departments thanks to an advanced laser system that provides 360° detection of obstacles, ensuring safe navigation.
As the AMR mobile robot acts, replacing the operator on the dock, the Modula automatic warehouse uses a special comb drawer where the crates are housed. The AMR robot, equipped with a ROEQ bay into which the crate box is loaded, automatically approaches the Modula bay to perform picking and replenishment operations. It moves the crate from underneath, so it can easily be removed from the station with a simple lift, greatly simplifying the picking and storing process. The system greatly simplifies the picking and storage process, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
Improve warehouse efficiency with Modula automated solutions
The combined use of the AMR system with ROEQ bay and Modula automatic warehouse optimises picking and replenishment operations; crates can be managed individually or in multiples, taking advantage of the ability of several AMRs to operate simultaneously with up to nine crates per bay.
However, maximum efficiency is achieved on the 4100 mm ML bay, as the use of AMRs in contiguous locations is not possible. This integrated approach, which combines the automatic bay, autonomous robots and the automatic vertical warehouse makes it possible to achieve high levels of efficiency and process optimisation.
